The variety is selected relatively recently (early 2000s). It was developed at the Vavilov Genetic Institute named after the Russian Academy of Sciences; it is included in the state register of the Russian Federation for use in farms and household plots.
The Siberian Garden company produces seed material. It must be purchased annually. The fact is that the King of kings belongs to a complex F1 class hybrid, which makes it impossible to use your own seeds for planting.

Features of planting and growing
The cultivation method of the King of Kings variety is seedlings, so the seeds are initially planted in containers, after which they are transferred to open or closed ground. This makes it possible to get the maximum yield, accelerate the ripening time and develop the plant's resistance to pests and diseases.
Seed preparation
Seed material is bought in a specialized store, after which the packaging is opened and taken for preparatory measures - seed germination, including the following:
- On sale you can find seeds that have already passed the processing stage to protect against pests and accelerate the growth process. If the seed is not processed, then you need to do it yourself. For this, the grains are kept in a weak solution of manganese and washed thoroughly.
- Growth stimulants are necessarily used, in which the seeds are soaked for 24 hours.
Planting seedlings
Seeds are planted for seedlings 65-75 days before diving to a permanent place. It is necessary to adhere to certain rules for growing seedlings:
- It is best to purchase mineralized soil in the store.
- Seeds are deepened exclusively to the same depth, so it is recommended to make grooves with a small wooden stick.
- Depth of landing - 5 mm.
- Do not over-coat the seeds with soil, which may slow growth.
- The soil should be moderately moist. Drought should not be allowed when growing seedlings.
- Be sure to do the loosening and holes in the tanks, so that enough oxygen is supplied.
- Diving is carried out when at least 2 full leaves appear on the seedling.
If you plan to grow the King of kings in greenhouse conditions, seedlings need to be transplanted into separate pots. If the planting is carried out in open ground, then during the first 2 weeks at night the bushes are covered with a film. This helps the plant to adapt and strengthen.
Landing
This variety is desirable to grow in closed conditions, but if the climate is warm enough, then the seedlings are planted in the ground. At the same time, the air temperature should not be lower than 15 degrees, and frost should be excluded.
The scheme of planting in the soil, based on increased branching of the plant:
- the maximum number of bushes per 1 square. m - 3 units;
- the distance between the rows is 50-60 cm;
- distance between joints - 40-50 cm;
- the plot is sunny;
- soil acidity - low, medium.
Care Rules
There are criteria for the care of the King of Kings variety, which must be strictly adhered to:
- It is advisable to feed and fertilize the plant every couple of weeks after transplanting into the ground. When diving into the wells, potassium and phosphorus-based products are laid. When growing a tomato, organic is required. It can be litter of chickens with water or mullein. Be sure to make mineral fertilizers.
- Of particular note is the dioecious nettle remedy, which strengthens the plant’s immune system and saturates it with useful substances. For cooking, you need 150 grams of nettle and 5 liters of warm water. The components are combined and infused for 48 hours, after which the mixture is filtered and poured under the root system.
- The best neighbors of the King of Kings are cucumbers, sorrel, cabbage, dill, parsley. Well, more about crop rotation in the garden is written more here.
- The amount of watering directly depends on the size of the bush - the larger it is, the more often you will have to water. To determine whether it is necessary to moisten the soil, it is enough to inspect the soil: if cracks appear on it, then watering is performed. It is undesirable to add too much fluid at a time. It is better to water more often, but in smaller quantities. Otherwise, there is a risk of root rot. After this manipulation, loosening is necessarily carried out.
- Stepsoning is required. It is carried out three times and involves pinching the tops. If this is not done, then the stems will rush up, and the fruits will be left without nutrients. Consequently, the yield and size of tomatoes will decrease.
- Garter is needed for the plant to receive sunlight, oxygen. It is important that the bush grows up to 2 meters, so the stems can easily break. For garter use a wire frame, horizontal trellis, mesh, pegs made of wood.
Diseases and Pests
The king of kings is highly resistant to disease. Accordingly, with proper care. But pests love this variety, especially the whitefly.
To exclude the risk of their attack on the plant, it is necessary to timely process the foliage, roots, stems and soil with special solutions and means. Mospilan, Vercitillin, Actellic preparations are excellent.
Harvesting and storage
Harvesting a tomato crop King of kings is desirable to do in the morning, that is, when there is still dew. Shelf life - mid-August, maturity - brown tomatoes or completely reddened. This variety is able to ripen even in the dark.
Store in wooden crates and in a well-ventilated area. The temperature regime should not be more than +6 degrees. Before laying for storage, the tomatoes are cleaned of dirt (due to the density washing of fruits is allowed), they are thoroughly dried. Laying is carried out in tight rows. Shelf life is 2 months.

Reviews
Victoria, 32 years old. I bought 2 years ago the King of kings. I liked the variety, very tasty, with moderate acidity and very meaty. The salads are great. But here is what I noticed: if you leave only 1 stalk, then the tomatoes are larger than with 2 or more stems. I even had tomatoes weighing 800-900 grams.
Nazar, 43 years old. A good variety, this King of Kings, but do not like the fact that you need to buy seed material annually. That's how much I tried to plant my seeds, the same tomatoes do not work - the taste, color, and shape are not the same. But despite this drawback, I still grow this tomato every year. I just want to warn you that you need to buy seeds from trusted producers, because once I got out of 40 seeds, only 7 were hacked. Now I take only from the Siberian Garden. Verified, quality, recommend.
Lydia, 56 years old. Although I consider the variety to be late, I grow it all year round. Equipped a winter greenhouse for this, and no problems. Tomato has excellent taste, meatiness, but not enough juiciness. I always grow in 2 stalks, because when in one, the fruits grow too large (enough for a plate of one salad). I also like the fact that tomatoes ripen gradually, but not all at once, so you can enjoy them for a long time.

Tomato King of Kings is designed for greenhouse cultivation, but you can grow a tomato in the open ground under appropriate conditions (enough heat and light). Many gardeners recommend this variety even to beginners, since it does not require much effort when caring and cultivating. It does not need to be transplanted into the greenhouse before diving into the garden.
